I'm uprating my first opinion of this campground. It is an interesting place considering it's prior use an old Route 66 motel. The main part of the park is the old parking lot of the motel, but, there are other sites back in the back and sides. The place was vitually full both nights we stayed there. The sites are large with full hookups and wi-fi that worked when it was on. For some reason, it is turned off part of the time. There is a good restaurant about 100 feet away, Del's restaurant.
Mostly perm. residents. We have a 40' motorhome and were provided a sufficient sized spot for an overnight stay. It had the wooden fences on both sides. This appears to be an older park. We had not problem getting into the site, we were led there by an escort. Wi-fi worked nicely. I would stay there again.
We stayed there for one night. It is only a couple of minutes from Camping World and on I-40. Campground was very clean, everything worked fine including wi-fi. The reception was one of the best I've seen at a campground. Very nice person working the desk. Very nice stop.
This campground is an old campground without 50A or sewer. Wi-Fi has been added this year. On the positive side, it has a great view of the lake freighters on the St. Mary's River. There is a lot to do in the Soo area of Michigan/Ontario. The campground is clean as are the rest rooms. I feel the positives out way the negatives. Some areas have better electric service than others. You just have to decide what is more important to you. The river side sites seem to have the poorer electric service. We're up in the upper area and don't have an electric problem, but, it has been cool, so demand is down.
This probably the nicest/cleanest park we have ever stayed in. Nice stamped concrete pads, paved streets, nice lamp posts, etc. This park is obviously first class all the way. Pricey, but, worth it in my opinion. Beside an interstate highway, but, with the a/c fan on low, you don't hear it. I have not met a single employee you didn't make you feel welcome. They seem to want to make everything a pleasant experience. Good security. Remember, you're in a questionable neighborhood of a large city and be smart.
This may be a sleeper park. I only live thirty minutes from it and had never heard of it. It is on the banks of the Ohio River. There are thirty-five sites on the river bank and thirty-five pull thrus on the second row facing the river. The sites are very large. There is nothing fancy about this place. Large grassy areas were well maintained. The staff was friendly. Some fire rings were noticed. Only negative is you have to cross two narrow bridges on US60 if you are coming from the west (Paducah).
This is probably the most expensive campground I've stayed in period, except for Florida in the winter. It is also the most trashy looking campground I have ever stayed in. Many perm. units with trash all around them. We didn't feel very secure here. I would stay away from this place at all cost.
I've been going to this park for several years. Unfortunatley, the owner keeps raising the rates, but, has not made any infrastruction inprovements. During this visit, most of the time, electrical voltage was under 100v. The electrical boxes would be so hot they would burn your hands to the touch. Many campers were running generators. When this matter was disscussed with the owner (also in past years), the owner just says there is no problem. THERE IS! The only thing the CG has going for it is the view. Many campers are indicating they are not going back there because of the low voltage.
Big rigs beware. This is a nice campground, but, is not for big rigs. We were there in a 40' MH and there were about four sites we could fit in. Three of them had tents on them. There seems to be no rules about where you can set up a tent. Therefore, it you are in a big rig, you're taking a chance in going to this campground. If you aren't in a big rig go for it. It is very nice.
We stayed there in a 40' motorhome during the FMCA rally in Perry. We found the park to be clean and well organized. The sites a a little tight for big rigs, but, you can get by. Dozens of cable TV channels. I found the personnel to be friendly and accomadating. The have LP on site. Many restaurants and shopping are within 2-3 miles. I really have nothing negative to say about the park and would stay there again.
